The Caruso Club was filled with priests, parishioners and friends taking part in an excellent 5 course meal, while placing bids in the Silent Auction and enjoying memories from Christ the King’s 100 year history.
Msgr Dixon delighted the gathered diners with his witty linkages between the Christ the King history, the game of curling and other Sudbury-based historical moments.
Fr. Jim entertained with an active retelling of personal stories of this days as a youngster at Christ the King. The crowd reacted with emotion as he recalled parish priests including Fr. Myles Sharpe, Fr. Jimmy Mulligan, Fr. Heinrich, Fr. Anthony Sabas and Bishop Pappin and sisters, especially Sr. Baptista (Shirley McNamara) who led the Boy’s choir and Sr. Catherine Crawford, and their influence that led to his vocation.
Bishop Marcel Damphousse reflected on the 100 year history of Christ the King while calling each person to follow our call to evangelization building the church of the 21st century.
